In order to attend TEDxYouth@SHC, you must fill out the short form at the bottom of the page. Our team will review the application to attend, and if chosen, you will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for $50.00 by special email invitation.
Why does TEDxYouth@SHC have an application process to attend?
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@SHC, where x = independently organized TED event. There are several recommendations and requirements that TED provides to organizers to help create a TED-inspired atmosphere at TEDx events. Among these, TED encourages prospective TEDx attendees to complete application forms so that organizers may gain a better understanding of the community interested in supporting the ideas presented by speakers.
We are looking for passion. We are looking for creativity. We are looking for out of the box thinking that pushes the envelope. We are looking for an edge. With a limited number of seats available, the student committee is tasked with evaluating each application. Attendees will represent varying roles within the world of education, and we thank everyone for their interest.
How will I know if my application has been accepted?
After the application review process is complete, all applicants will be contacted via email. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for the event at the cost of $50.00 on a rolling basis from now until the tickets are sold out.
Why is there a fee to attend TEDxYouth@SHC?
TEDxYouth@SHC is a non-for profit event. Our event is run solely by a team of dedicated student volunteers, and money collected from ticket fees and sponsorships are allocated back to the conference to support costs for venue, operations, and other necessities.
Why do I need to apply to attend when I'm paying money anyway?
Space is limited for this event. The maximum number of attendees is 100. We hope you understand our desire to ensure the people attending the conference are as interesting as the people presenting. We’re curating a collection of thinkers and doers across a wide range of fields and experiences. From fresh minded students to seasoned educators and entrepreneurs, TEDxYouth@SHC will host an interesting mix of talent and experience. We are looking for those most likely to be engaged by the ideas shared at this event and who will be the embodiment of TED’s motto, “Ideas Worth Spreading.”
